Once you’ve configured a Blueprint campaign and ad group, you can set up your creatives. Tags play a crucial role in this process by allowing for customization and ease of maintenance. They make it simple to implement changes and generate a variety of unique ads for your campaign. After configuring your creatives with tags, you’re ready to launch your Blueprint.
Setting up a creative in a Blueprint
Go to Automate (rocket icon) in the left menu.
Select Blueprint Editor.
Select a Blueprint from the list.
Create or select an existing campaign and ad group.
In the ad group menu, click to open the Creatives dropdown—you may need to scroll down.
Click + New Creative and select a creative type from the dropdown.
Enter a Name for the creative.
(Optional) Toggle on Show Advanced Fields. If relevant, add a preferred path, valid when statement, and/or data filter.
Complete the optional fields, if relevant:
Variations to Generate: Specify a number (e.g., 2, 3, etc.) to automatically clone this creative to keep your Blueprint from getting bloated. The default is 1.
Maximum per Ad Group: If the creative uses tags in its name, it will produce a new creative for each tag value. Change this to a value to limit the maximum number of creatives this template can produce per ad group/set.
Complete the fields for Creative Assets according to the creative type (see below), using tags as needed.
(Optional) Custom Attributes: Define the attribute pattern for naming overrides.
Click Save Changes.
