Comparing metrics by time period

Compare current and previous period metrics to identify trends.

Updated over a month ago

Comparing metrics by time period is a valuable approach to gain insights into campaign performance. By analyzing current data alongside a previous period, you can identify trends and make informed decisions.

How to compare metrics by time period

To compare current metric data with a previous period:

  1. Go to Manage in the top menu.

  2. In any table within Manage, click the date range in the top-right, and a calendar will appear. Update the date range for your desired dates if needed.

  3. Click the Compare toggle if it is not green. A comparison date range will appear below the toggle.

  4. Select the time period you want to compare, or manually enter a different date range. Note: By default, the comparison date range will be for the previous month, unless you manually enter a different date range. For example, if the current month is June, the comparison dates will be for May. Changing the current date range will also automatically reset the comparison date range to the previous month.

  5. Click Apply to generate the comparison metrics.

Key metric comparisons

After applying the comparison, the table will display three rows of metric data:

  • Row 1: Current period metrics. Shows the metrics for the current (or later) time period.

  • Row 2: Comparison period metrics. Displays the metrics for the previous period.

  • Row 3: Percent change between periods. Shows the percentage change between the current and comparison periods (e.g., -4%, +33%).
