šŸ’” For Example

Let's walk through the steps above using an example. In our example, we'll set up a custom notification for accounts that:

  • Have account budgets greater than $500

  • Show no conversions in the last 14 days

Follow along below:

Step #1: Creating and saving your data set

  1. Go to Insights in the top menu and select Data Explorer.

  2. Under Customize on the right, choose Performance Metrics as the Report Type (if not the default selection) and click Apply.

  3. Click the Filter icon under Customize. Note: Filters are required to set up custom notifications.

  4. Click + Create Filter Group and select Account.

  5. In the Field dropdown, select Account Budget (Current) ($).

  6. In the dropdown to the right, select Greater Than or Equal, and enter 500 as the Value.

  7. Repeat Step 4 to add a second filter group: Performance metric, Conversions, Equals, 0

  8. Click Apply.

  9. Open the Date Selector and click + Add.

  10. Enter 14 in the field Show the Last _ Days, and click Create Custom Range.

  11. Click Apply.

  12. Save your data set.

Step #2: Configuring and saving your notification

  1. Click the bell icon beside the filter icon.

  2. Toggle on Enable Notification.

  3. Your Notification Title and Description should auto-fill if the data set is loaded.

  4. Select or enter a Notification Category. You can choose from Fluency's default categories or name your own. Note: When the notification is triggered, it will appear under this category as a notification type in the Notifications tool. Setting specific categories will be helpful in organizing your notifications.

  5. Set a Severity level.

  6. (Optional) Select a Notification Link from the dropdown, which defines the ā€œOpen in Manageā€ option for a specific notification.

  7. Click Save.

Tip: If you get too many notifications, try adding more filters to narrow your data set.

Note: A bell icon will appear next to this saved data set.
