Target specific audiences and locations with Meta's ad settings

Updated over a week ago

Meta (Facebook) allows you to target ads by the geographic and demographic attributes of your audience, ensuring your ads reach the right people in the right places.

Adding ad group-level targets

  1. Go to Blueprints in the top menu.

  2. Click on a Blueprint, then a Facebook campaign and an ad group.

  3. Open the Targeting dropdown.

  4. Set your targeting preferences.

  5. Click Save Changes.

Understanding targeting preferences

For more details about a field, click the section title to visit the Meta Help Center.

Demographics-based targeting

  • Minimum and Maximum Audience Age: Define the age range for your target audience (default: 18-65+).

  • Audience Gender: Select All, Men, or Women from the dropdown.

In addition to basic attributes like location, age, gender, and language, Meta lets you create audiences based on behaviors and interests. Under Detailed Targeting, input a keyword to get a dropdown list of audiences.

When activated, Facebook displays your ad to more people likely to yield better and/or more cost-effective results. This broadens your reach beyond the specific detailed targeting.

Select where on the Meta platform your ads will appear. "Automatic" is the default placement. Choose a different placement by clicking on it. To select multiple placements, hold Command on Mac or Ctrl on Windows while clicking the desired options.

The attribution window is the timeframe before a conversion where touchpoints can be credited for the conversion (in days). This defaults to 1-day click, and options are dependent on your campaign goals.
