Fluency supports two types of product catalogs (known as "product feeds" in Google Ads):
Inventory catalogs: Product catalogs that are built directly in Fluency using your internal inventory data. Fluency maps your data to the format required by the advertising partner. These catalogs are used to power shopping and dynamic ad campaigns on platforms like Meta, Google, and Pinterest.
Partner catalogs: Product catalogs that are hosted externally in platforms such as Meta Commerce Manager or Google Merchant Center.
Campaign types that use product catalogs:
Meta: Dynamic Product Ads, Advantage+ Catalog Ads, Collection Ads
Google: Shopping, Performance Max
Pinterest: Shopping
Programmatic: Dynamic Product Ads
Creating an inventory catalog
Go to Automate (rocket icon) in the left menu.
Select Inventory Catalogs.
Click + Add Inventory Catalog in the bottom-left—you may need to scroll down the page to find this.
Fill in the form fields:
Enter a Name for the catalog.
Select a Blueprint Vertical.
Under Partner Catalog Type, choose from Facebook, Google, Pinterest, and DSP types.
For each Partner Inventory Field, enter the Source Data. This is the related tag for the data to be pushed to the partner in this catalog, found at the account level (e.g., inventory.make). Select an account in the tag pane to the right to find the tag you need and copy/paste it into the appropriate field under Source Data.
Add additional partner inventory fields by clicking + Add Optional Field and input each additional field's information.
Note: Different partner inventory fields appear based on the chosen catalog type. Required fields have a lock icon, while optional feeds have a trash can icon for deletion.
Click Save.
(Optional) Use Data Transforms to Format Data
Data transforms ensure that your partner inventory field data matches the options available at the partner level. If there's a dropdown icon to the left of a Source Data field, you can format the data using a transform.
Click the dropdown icon to open the Data Transform tool.
Select + Add Transform.
Complete the form fields:
Under Operator, select either CONTAINS or STARTS_WITH.
Under Value, enter all the values from your inventory feed. Check for typos and ensure they match.
Under Result, pick the format that best matches the value in the dropdown.
(Optional) Select + Add Transform to add a new value.
Click the disc icon next to the catalog's name to save your changes.
