Set default actions for streamlined recommendation management.

Updated over a week ago

Streamline the process of automating both Google's Optimization Score recommendations and Fluency's own recommendations with recommendation policies.

Setting up recommendation policies

  1. Click the Settings & Tools gear icon in the top menu.

  2. Select Recommendation Policies in the dropdown menu.

  3. If you haven't already, click Terms & Conditions In the blue bar along the top of the window to accept them.

  4. By default, policies will be set for all accounts in your portfolio. (Optional) To set up policies for specific groups of accounts, click the dropdown next to Set Policies For. Choose the account group you want and any applicable filters.

  5. For each recommendation policy, decide on an action:

    • Accept: Apply the recommendation in Fluency and dismiss it at the partner.

    • Mitigate: Record the recommendation, incorporate it into existing Fluency recommendations and notifications, and dismiss it at the partner.

    • Dismiss: Dismiss the recommendation at the partner.

    • Do Nothing: Take no action.

Note: You can use the toggle at the top of the list of recommendation policies to filter between "Applicable," "Not Set," and "All" to view specific policies.

  6. Click Save.

A note about Google's auto-apply recommendations

Enabling Auto-Apply for recommendations in Google allows Google to automatically adjust budgets, bidding, targeting, and keywords. Keep in mind:

  • Google's changes aren't logged in Fluency, so you won't have a record of them. Google has no current timeline for making this information available in the API.

  • Auto-applied recommendations in Google might conflict with your strategic advertising goals in Fluency, potentially causing over/under spend.

  • Auto-applied recommendations in Google might not consider your specific brand requirements, co-op eligibility, or legal compliance.

Consider reaching out to your Advertising Engineer to see if similar recommendations can be applied within Fluency.

The following recommendations have been deemed as "safe," so they are not auto-disabled. Recommendations not on this list will continue to be auto-disabled. Note: This only applies to customers who have opted into the AAR terms and conditions.
