Catalogs help you format products correctly for various advertising partners. These catalogs are useful for creating shopping campaigns on platforms like Google, Facebook, and Pinterest. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use inventory catalogs in Fluency:
Step #1: Add a catalog feed
Go to Settings & Tools (gear icon) in the top menu.
Choose Catalogs from the dropdown.
Click the + Add Inventory Catalog.
Fill in the form fields:
Enter a Name for the catalog.
Select a Partner Catalog Type.
Select a Blueprint Vertical.
For each Partner Inventory Field, choose the Source Data. This is the related tag for the data to be pushed to Meta in this catalog, found at the account level (e.g., inventory.make). Note: Different partner inventory fields appear based on your chosen catalog type. Required fields have a lock icon, while optional feeds have a trash can icon for deletion.
To add optional partner inventory fields, click + Add Optional Field and input each additional field's information.
In the catalog list, click the yellow Save icon to finish. Note: The icon will turn green, indicating a successful save.
Note: You can use the Blueprint tag pane to the right to find the tag you need and copy/paste it into the appropriate field.
(Optional) Use Data Transforms to Format Data
Data transforms ensure that your partner inventory field data matches the options available at the partner level. If there's a heart icon next to a "Source Data" field, you can format the data using a transform.
Click a heart icon to open the Data Transform feature.
Complete the form fields:
Under Value, enter all the values from your inventory feed. Check for typos and ensure they match.
Under Operator, select either CONTAINS or STARTS_WITH.
Under Result, pick the format that best matches the value in the dropdown menu.
Click + Add Transform to add a new value.
Remember to click the yellow Save icon next to the catalog's name.
Step #2: Set up a Meta (Facebook) campaign
Go to Blueprints in the top menu.
Click on a Blueprint and then an existing Facebook campaign—or create a new one.
Create an ad group and configure its ad group settings.
Add and configure your product set.
Create an ad (creative) that supports the use of product sets (Advantage+ Catalog Ads or Collection Ad).
