Creating a flighted (lifetime) budget

Use a flighted budget to set spend across months with specific dates.

Updated today

In Fluency, budgets are set to monthly by default. To set spend over a defined timeframe that spans multiple months, you can use a flighted budget. This is helpful if you have specific timelines, such as campaigns with promotional windows.

Creating a flighted budget

  1. Under Budget Settings, select Flighted in the dropdown for Budget Type.

  2. Scroll down and add start and end dates. Remember to click Apply after selecting each date in the calendar.

  3. Enter the total amount you want to spend for the full period in the Lifetime Budget field. Note: The calculated monthly budget number is an estimate based on the timeframe and does not affect actual spend.

  4. Scroll down and select a Pacing Strategy. For consistent spend across the time period, select Even.

  5. Click Save in the top-right.

Changing an existing monthly budget to a flighted budget

  1. Go to Manage (globe icon) in the left menu.

  2. Select Accounts.

  3. Select the Budget tab.

  4. Click on a budget from the list of budgets associated with the account.

  5. Go to Settings & Tools under Budget Actions near the top.

  6. In the budget’s Settings & Tools, find Budget Type and select Flighted in the dropdown.

  7. Enter a Start Date and End Date.

  8. Once you apply the dates, the Lifetime field will appear. Enter a value for the flighted budget.

  9. Click Save in the top-right.
