Read-only mode prevents Fluency from making updates at the partner and is available at the account, budget, and campaign levels. This feature is useful when onboarding a new client or off-boarding an existing client.
Read-only status for accounts
Setting an entire account to read-only means no changes can be made in Manage, and nothing will be pushed to the partners (Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc.).
Turning read-only mode on or off for an account
Setting an account to read-only prevents changes made in Fluency from updating at the partner. The account will continue recording and reporting on any metrics provided by the partner, but it will no longer manage the account. Read-only will not discontinue spend; the campaign remains active at the partner.
Go to Manage in the top menu.
Click on an account from the list.
Select Account Settings in the top-right.
Click the Tools dropdown, and select Mark Account as Read-Only or Turn off Read-Only.
Confirm Yes I'm sure.
In the settings, it will show Read Only or Fluency Managed under Mode.
Note: When an account is in read-only mode, you will see a red bar across the top in account settings. You will also receive an error message stating the account is in read-only mode if you try to make changes in Manage.
Turning read-only mode off for an account
When accounts are first ingested into the platform, they are set to read-only. No changes can take place within Fluency until you turn off read-only mode.
Go to Manage in the top menu.
Click on an account from the list.
Select Account Settings in the top-right.
Click the Tools dropdown, and select Turn off Read-Only.
Confirm Yes I'm sure.
In the settings, it will show Fluency Managed under Mode.
Note: You will receive an error message stating the account is in read-only mode if you try to make changes in Manage.
Read-only status for budgets
When you turn on read-only mode for a budget, changes can be saved within Fluency, but the changes will not be pushed to the partners.
Turning read-only mode on or off for a budget
Go to Manage in the top menu.
Click on an account from the list.
Check the box(es) for one or more budgets.
Click Read Only Mode in the blue bulk edit menu
Select either Turn ON read only mode or Turn OFF read-only mode.
The serving status badge will change to reflect the update.
Note: When a budget is in read-only mode, you will see the label Budget will not be published to partners in red with a lock, in budget settings.
Read-only status for campaigns
Once a campaign is in read-only mode, it will be grayed out and you won't be able to make edits to the campaign, ad group, ads, or keywords. Use this when you want to ingest a campaign but not take action on it.
Turning read-only mode on or off for a campaign
Go to Manage in the top menu.
Click on an account from the list and then a campaign.
Click Campaign Settings in the top-right.
In the upper-right corner, you will see either Campaign is in Read-Only mode or Campaign is managed in Fluency. Click on the text to change it from one to the other.
Notes:
When a campaign is in read-only mode, you will see the label Campaign is in Read-Only mode in red with a lock, in campaign settings.
Campaigns are brought into Fluency in read-only mode if the synchronization method of the account is set to Manual Pull Only and a campaign has accumulated metrics that do not already exist within Fluency.
