Read-only mode

Enable read-only mode to prevent updates in accounts, budgets, and campaigns across partners.

Updated yesterday

Read-only mode prevents Fluency from making updates at the partner and is available at the account, budget, and campaign levels. This feature is useful when onboarding a new client or off-boarding an existing client. Note: Read-only will not discontinue spend; the campaign remains active at the partner.

Read-only status for accounts

Setting an entire account to read-only means no changes can be made, and nothing will be pushed to the partners.

Note: When accounts are first ingested into the platform, they are set to read-only. No changes can take place within Fluency until you turn off read-only mode.

Turning read-only mode on/off

When an account is on read-only, it will continue pulling metrics from the partner.

  1. Go to Manage (globe icon) in the left menu.

  2. Select Accounts.

  3. Click on an account from the list.

  4. Go to Settings & Tools under Account Actions near the top.

  5. Go to Account Details in the settings drawer menu.

  6. In the Automation Settings section, toggle on or off Read Only.

  7. Click Save.

Note: When an account is in read-only mode, you will see a Read Only label next to the account name.

Read-only for budgets

When you turn on read-only mode for a budget, changes can be made in Fluency, but the changes will not be pushed to the partners. Note: If an account is on read-only mode, all budgets will be on read-only as well.

Turning read-only on/off for budgets

  1. Go to Manage (globe icon) in the left menu.

  2. Select Accounts.

  3. Click on an account from the list.

  6. Click Read Only Mode in the blue bulk edit menu

  7. Select either Turn ON read only mode or Turn OFF read-only mode.

The serving status badge will change to reflect the update.

Note: When a budget is in read-only mode, you will see the label Budget will not be published to partners in red with a lock, in budget settings.

Read-only for campaigns

Once a campaign is in read-only mode, it will be grayed out and you won't be able to make edits to the campaign, ad group, ads, or keywords. Use this when you want to ingest a campaign but not take action on it. Note: If an account is on read-only mode, all campaigns will be on read-only as well.
